P key and Caps Lock wont work (macbook pro)

Hi I hope someone on here can help me with my question. I have a late MacBook pro 2011. When I got the computer it was running mountain lion and everything had seemed to work fine. I just recently upgraded to Yosemite after the upgrade the P key will type P0 or p- and the caps lock key wont turn on and neither will the caps lock key light. After 20 times of so if I can get the caps lock key to turn on (still no light) then the upper case P key works fine. Please tell me this is a software issue that can be fixed. I also did a hardware test and the test came back with nothing wrong.

Hi rsxgirl87
I understand that a few keys are not working as they are intended to. Let's see if we can get that isolated to software or hardware for you.
Take a look at the articles below to get you started with that. What you will want to do is enable the Keyboard Viewer to see what happens when you are pressing those keys. You will want to do that in conjunction with booting into Safe Mode. If it works fine in Safe Mode, then all you would need to do is restart your computer and you will be good to go.
One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up

Let me know if you get it sorted out or need further assistance with the keyboard.
Take it easy
