admin password on snow leopard wont work - how do I reset it?

I moved my computer to my new house and now my admin login password wont work. If I log out and try to log in now a password isn't needed. I really need to update my machine and there fore need to reset my password. How can I reset the password?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Resetting or changing a password:

For Snow Leopard or earlier: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274

If it's running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, insert a Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the Option key held down, click on it, and use the Reset Password utility.
