I want to forward text messages to my Mac from my iPhone 6 but when I turn on that feature on the messages setting on the iPhone it requires a code that its suppose to appear on my Mac but that code never appears on the computer screen I even have the messages app open on the Mac. So what am I doing wrong?

Is your Mac running OS X Yosemite?
If not, it fails the requirements needed.

I do have OS X Yosemite (the latest update) and the latest iOS on my iPhone, and just checked everything on the list that came on the link you shared, and there was no change; the code still doesn't appear.
