can't access gmail using the built in app

I have an IPad 2 with OS 8.4 update and today was unable to access my gmail email account. I use the built-in email app. When I hit the email icon the page comes up blank and then shuts down and goes back to the home page. I have tried turning off the IPad and turning it back on and resetting my email information in the mail section with no success. Any other suggestions?

Howdy shepots,

It sounds as if you are unable to access your gmail account using the Mail app on your iPad. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article - Gmail account cannot get or send email in iOS.
