Need to delete and reload Contacts from iCloud.

If I check the list in iCloud services its says it will upload my Contacts from Macbook and merge with iCloud Contacts. Will this create duplicates? Will the iCloud Groups remain in their order as in iCloud?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)
