iTunes won't automatically open when iPhone connected

Okay, so i'm having a hard time trying to sort this out. I'm trying to get iTunes to automatically open when i connect my phone, but it's not having it. I've tried a few solutions on here, like Authorising the computer or Deautorising, or stuff with iTunes helper, i've got that running in the background, confirmed by Activity Monitor, also i've tried the whole Unchecking the ' Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected ' restarting and checking the ' Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected ' but they didn't help. It's way past midnight at the moment so i can't exactly call Apple regarding this, i'm up to date with the updates as well so not sure what else i could try. If anyone have any solutions that helped them with the same problems it would be greatly appreciated.
