1st Gen - Amber light flashes - No IR receiver light - cannot navigate - Suggestion?
1st Generation - Turns on with amber light flashing - IR receiver light is not illuminated - cannot navigate. Suggestions??

Try holding menu and down arrow key together for 6 secs and see if you can boot to diagnostics menu.
If not, I suspect the AppleTV has developed a terminal fault.
