Booting Windows 7 from 2nd internal HD?

I have an SSD with Windows 7 from a PC desktop build I did 2 years ago. Probably a long shot but I wanted to know if, after removing my optical drive and installing a second HD caddy in its place with the SSD installed, I can simply boot Windows 7 from the SSD. I realize there are other dual boot options, two of which I have done in the past. Would this be possible by simply holding the option key at startup and choosing which drive to boot up? Thanks for entertaining my curiosity.
