Q: No audio : Windows 10 Bootcamp

Hi everybody. I begin to apologise because I'm french and my english is not perfect.

So, you are, the apple community, my last chance.

First of all : I give you my set up, that will be usefull.

Config : Macbook pro late 2011

Upgrade with SSD 850 evo

So I have 1 HD and 1 SSD.

I recently instaled Windows 10 with Bootcamp on the Hard Disk. Everything works well, but I don't have audio.

I had installed the latest Bootcamp (Drivers) on Windows 10. But at this point I had no audio.

I saw on "device manager" that the "Hight Definition audio codec" is installed, but badly. I can see a Yellow exclamation mark and an error in the property (Code 10).

Then, I tried to uninstall this Driver (directly in the device Manager), to install it better. But nothing looks work.

I had also tried to download directly the latest driver on the Realtek Website.

I have more information for you : If I plug a jack I have the same issue.

In the Mac partition : The latest OS Yosemite is installed

When I installed W10, it was on an empty partition, with a boutable USB drive.

I tried the latest Bootcamp and also 5.1.5626

I really hope that you'll can help me.

Thank You

MacBook Pro, Other OS, Windows 10

I assume from your earlier screen shot that you are trying to install Windows on disk1 (750GB) disk.

If you plan to use the entire disk for Windows, my suggestion is to format the disk as FAT32 and MBR only. This does not require a Hybrid MBR at all.

If you plan to use multiple partitions on disk1, then you need to create a FAT32 partition on this disk of the size you need Windows to be. This partition would then be added to the MBR using a utility called GPT Fdisk available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ .

GPT Fdisk is installed but I cant find it. Do I need to write something in the terminal?

I'd like to install Windows on the SSD. I'd like do a partition of 300 go.

    Thanks for all your solutions

These are the two disks. Which of these two do you want to partition?

In your screen shot, you had BOOTCAMP on disk1 - partition 2 which is the 750G disk. I assume your Samsung EVO is the SSD which is 1TB and has OSX on it. Let us first decide which disk you want to use, then we can decide the steps for GPT Fdisk. GPT Fdisk (the binary is called gdisk).

    Gdisk is installed in

    type gdisk

    gdisk is /usr/sbin/gdisk

    ls -l /usr/sbin/gdisk

I just tried to formate my 750 HD in Fat 32.

    I had used again bootcamp

After the restart I had also the black screen (No bootable...)

    I forced it with Alt.

After I had the same issues when I selected Bootcamp partition

Just to let you kno : to formate in FAT 32, I had used disk utility,

I had selected erase/ MSDOS (FAT) for all the partition

It is confusing between your screen shots of the failed installation and what you want to do.

    1. Run

    diskutil info disk0

    diskutil info disk1

    2. Pick a disk. You seem to have tried the 750GB disk in the screen shots but you are asking for a 300G partition on the SSD, which is not the 750G disk.

    3. If you are erasing the 750G disk to FAT32 and testing with it and that is not the disk you eventually want to use for Windows, we should leave it alone.

    4. BC Assistant, when it sees two disks, will only use the second disk for partitioning.

    5. Create the FAT32 partition on the disk you want to use for Windows and before you start installing Windows, post the output of the following commands.

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk1

Can I try to use bootcamp now? I know that is confuse, and sorry. But yes the picture shows my 750 HD because it was some tests. I did not want to failed my tests on the OSX Drive.

But I want a partition of 300 go, on disk0, which is the SSD.

    2. Pick a disk. You seem to have tried the 750GB disk in the screen shots but you are asking for a 300G partition on the SSD, which is not the 750G disk.

I want disk 0 : wich is the SSD

Ok I leave 750G disk alone I dont touch it

    4. BC Assistant, when it sees two disks, will only use the second disk for partitioning.

But I try to do a fat 32 Partition, but Bootcamp ask me to have only one partition. BC wants that I restaure the OSX partition

    5. Create the FAT32 partition on the disk you want to use for Windows and before you start installing Windows, post the output of the following commands.

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0
