What is the best transcription program to use with Mac. To go from spoken transcript to written?

As a new graduate student, (second career), with questionable keyboarding (used to call it typing, back in the day) skills, I often have volumes of handwritten rough draft pages to enter to get to written/typed text, to hand in for papers.

Isn't there a transcription/voice memo app that can be used to save on keyboarding?

Best to use with MacBook Air?

Thanks, Uncle Deeej

OS X built in version is a nice novelty to have a go at it but not a workable productive solution.

Even Dragon has problems with transcription. Dictating is speaking live to computer, where you say things like 'period, new line'. Transcription is going from a recorded speech.

The best way to do transcription is to pay a human, there's some good online services, but Dragon for Mac works in some situations.

I did an example of OS X vs Dragon and posted the visas of the results here:

That will give you an idea of what they do.
