cellular calling on mac

i got an iPhone 6 for a gift and i bought a mac yesterday,i enabled handoff and it works ONLY on the information on the mac to the iPhone, i tried to call my friend on the mac and a message popped up that says (your iPhone is not configured to allow calls using your mac).
