Software Disconnect Optical

I have a 2010 iMac running latest Yosemite.

The internal Optical Drive is dead, but the iMac & OS X still see it which creates problems with stuff like Boot Camp.

Is there anyway using Unix via the Terminal that this drive can be hidden or "disconnected" from the system.

Kind of like nulling out the driver?

Thanks All!
