Problems importing music into iTunes

I'm having difficulty importing music into my iTunes (I'm currently using Windows 7 and iTunes 12.2.1.16). All of my music is stored in my My Music folder on my C drive. I'm trying to import and organize it all into my iTunes. Under the File tab, I'm using the Add Folder to Library option. When I click Add Folder to Library, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. Some folders will import into iTunes with no problem, while others won't import at all and nothing happens. The Add File to Library function hasn't worked at all either.


Does anybody have any suggestions/help/advice? I've already contacted Apple and they basically advised me to sign up for iTunes Match. I'm not completely sold on iTunes Match because to use it, I've been led to believe, you need an internet connection. I understand in today's world that shouldn't be too hard to come by but it is while doing such activities as grocery shopping, exercising, traveling, etc.

Add Folder/File will not import music that isn't supported by iTunes. So the question is, what is the format of the music that is failing to import?


Another possible reason for the apparent failure to import may be that the songs are importing, but you simply can't find them, perhaps because songs don't have the appropriate fields filled in for the view you are using. For example, if the songs do not have the album title listed, and you look at an album list, those songs will all be listed under "Unknown Album"


Here's a useful view, which shows all the music by import date, with the newest imports at the top of the list:

Using this view, one can see anything and everything that was imported on a given date.

Then you'll need to be specific about the symptoms of these bugs, because I'm also using Windows 7 with Tunes 12.2.1.16 (64-bit) and I have yet to have any issues like the one mentioned in the original post.

I'm having problems with tracks not playing when double clicking them, track listings disappearing from view when clicking on just one of them, constantly have to resize the iTunes screen when opening because the side scroll bar is not visible. All this has only been happening since the latest update and was happening today when on the phone with support for 45 minutes (ish) whilst discussing and trying to get rid of, the biography, similar artist etc., display info that has been forced upon us. Chap from support could not understand it either, he saw it happening, and told me to submit a feedback form.
