Why is my keyboard generating spurious input?

The keyboard on my MacBook Pro (2009) OS 10.6.8 seems to be generating spurious signals. While I'm typing (on line or in email) a window will pop up, or my typing will jump to another line (happened just now).

Hi WuLi,

Although it does seem to be the keyboard you may still want to isolate further.

I would start by enabling the Keyboard Viewer and keep that open to monitor if random keys do seem to be activated causing the issue. See the section "Keyboard has one or more keys that don't respond" in Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues - Apple Support

Also test in Safe Mode or maybe with another user account to isolate software conflicts or issues.

OS X Mountain Lion: Start up in safe mode (Applies to Snow Leopard as well.)

And if you have an external keyboard to use, you could test with that.

If it does turn out to be the keyboard physically, it would need service.

Take care.
