Apple Configurator Supervising devices Error

I am new to iOS and Supervision so please bear with me. I tried setting up the Configurator but when I try to prepare it I get an error at the Download Activation Record, it says it failed. The only other additional information it gives me is:

Description: unsupported URL Code: -1002 Domain: NSURLErrorDomain

Description: unsupported URL Code: -1002 Domain: kCFErrorDomainC...

I have several iOS device that need to be supervised and I am not sure what the issue is. Any Ideas?

Is it possible to either take the Mac and 1 iPad offsite to try going through the steps or to use a mobile hotspot for internet?

I would start with assuming something is being blocked by your company's firewall or some other piece of equipment between the Mac and the internet. Taking the Mac offsite and using an open network would confirm this.

So I sort of did what you suggested last week. We have a guest wireless that for the most part is wide open. So last week when we tried it we got the same message but today when we tried it we got it to work fine. So I got with one of my firewall admins and we did a packet capture. He got the information of what the Mac was doing to make sure everything was open for the Mac. We then switched it back to the internal network and tried it and it also worked. I asked if he changed anything and he said no. So I am not sure why this whole time we could not get it to work and now suddenly it does.
