What is point of iCloud Keynote?

I use and teach Keynote a lot at my school so I am a fan. I build all my presentations on Keynote, even for my PC classes. I have been carrying my laptop to the PC classroom to run Keynote lessons but recently thought it would make sense to just run them off the iCloud version. I couldn't believe the iCloud version doesn't support even the most basic animations. Not a single one.

I would be willing to simplify my presentations to fit a more limited iCloud version of Keynote but seriously, what is the point of even having it if it can't actually do any and even the transitions are extremely limited?

I haven't been able to understand Apple's choices in new iterations of their iWork software and this is just as puzzling.
