Q: Keyboard problems transfered from old 2010 macbook to new 2014 macbook via timemachine

So I had a 2010 unibody macbook. I started having issues with the keyboard after I cleaned it without turning the computer off. The repeat key function didn't work, the eject key stopped functioning, and the capslock key wouldn't work either. I tried several ways to fix it using the keyboard settings and modifier keys but nothing helped. I thought I had done something physical to the computer when I cleaned it.

Then I bought a 2014 macbook pro and transferred all my old computer data to the new one--and now the same keys (minus the eject key because there's no disc drive) won't work. It's clearly a programmable problem. Can anyone help me locate the problem and fix?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
