Q: Since you can't upgrade to any OS higher than OS6 for the iPod 4th gen how can I get snapchat to work with OS6?

I have an iPod 4th generation the problem is I can't get snapchat to work with the OS6, and since the higher OS upgrades are not compatible with the 4th generation how do I get snapchat to function on my iPod?  I keep getting a message to update the OS and update the snapchat app...I can't do either since neither of the current versions are compatible with the iPod 4th generation.  Please help me so I can use snapchat on my iPod.  Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Download the current version to a computer or compatible iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions. If they don't work, you can't.

Thanks Niel, but the whole point is to use snapchat on my iPod...I don't want it on my computer.  Another useless item from Apple...I do appreciate your help...just doesn't apply in my situation.  I let my kids borrow my iPod to do the snapchat thing so if I can't use it on the iPod it is useless.  I wish the sales reps at the Apple store would tell you these things before you purchase the item...had I known I would have paid a little extra and upgraded to the 5th gen.

Even though you don't want it on your computer, you need to at least temporarily download it there as part of the process of seeing if you can get a version compatiible with your iPod touch. Note that there's no guarantee that applications will remain available in the iTunes App Store, so if it gets removed from there, you'll need to have a copy in your iTunes library to reload it.
