Slower boot after Windows 10 install-uninstall

Hi! I wanted to try game performance on Windows on my MacBook Pro so I installed Windows 10 to try it out. Since it wasn't much improvement I decided to remove the bootcamp partition.

At first I did it manually but it didn't quite work well (Windows boot loader seemed to still be present and trying to look for the Windows partition). Then I reinstalled Windows via bootcamp in order to remove it from Bootcamp (the right way to do it). Now it doesn't seem to be any problem because it boots right into OS X but what happens is that there's a black screen right up when I press the power button. It's about 10 seconds of a black screen; no Apple logo. After those 10 seconds, the Apple logo appears and it seems to boot fine.

What I think is that Windows UEFI boot loader is still present or something but it boots directly to OS X and that's why there's such delay. Any help with this?

There is no official Apple support for Windows 10 in Boot Camp.

Although you have now properly removed the Boot Camp partition, Windows 10 may have also written into non-Boot Camp partitions. Since there is no way to verify what was potentially written, or where, the thorough repair solution would be to perform a single-partition, clean reinstallation of Yosemite 10.10.4 via Boot into Recovery, or via Internet Recovery.

If you are uncomfortable with the above process, inquire at your nearest Apple Store, or Certified Apple Reseller to determine if they will assist you in this effort.

In either case, backup of your home directory before the clean reinstall.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Test after each one. Back up all data before making any changes.

1. Set the default startup disk.

2. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up. If there's no change, reconnect them

3. Reset the System Management Controller.

4. Reset the PRAM. Afterwards you'll need to repeat Step 1.

5. Reset the printing system.
