Q: My iPhone 6 suddenly cannot connect to all type of wireless networks, I mean sometimes it does not see the available wireless network nearby but my other smartphone can!

This problem started just few months after upgrading my OS to OS8 ( I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue)

I used to connect to my work wireless network but suddenly my iPhone6 cannot see this wireless network now, I am using iPhone6 plus as well and it is fine. Is anyone facing same issue here? Am I the only one facing the problem?

I've done everything, tried to troubleshoot the problem by myself

*Reset Network settings

*Turn wireless off (In the location services)

The last solution and it might not help me too is to Reset All Content and Settings.

I just want to know is this a common problem? Is it a software or hardware issue? Tried to google it and found that many people are facing the same problem.

I am using iOS 8.4.1 in both iPhone6 and iPhone 6 plus. But having this problem only on my iPhone6 !

    Kindly advise.

I have a brand new (2 days old) iPhone 6 16GB. I set it up in store from a backup of the phone I was turning into Verizon so nothing of mine would get lost. That night I upgraded to 8.4.1 and now I seem to drop my wifi signal every few minutes at random so I am having almost the same problem as you!

I don't know if my backup from my 5S was glitchy or if 8.4.1 is causing me these problems... but from what I read this is a common problem after this last update.

It is not just you. I will follow with far more details.

Like I mentioned above it is not just you and it is a somewhat common problem. Here are more details, perhaps more than you wanted to know...

Please check these Apple threads on iOS 8 Wi-Fi issues. They are long and no need to waste a lot of time reading there. The bottom line is that there are many people having issues with Wi-FI and I have summarized the concerns below.

Re: Re: iOS 8 Wi-Fi problems

Re: Wi-Fi not working on iOS 8.4

The problems with Wi-Fi occur on a subset of devices only as the majority of users are not having any issues. In my own case my 4 iOS devices connect ok but have difficulties with slow download speeds when Bluetooth is turned on. They function at full ISP speeds with BT off. However my MacBook Pro as well as my two Windows PCs work perfectly with the same router regardless of Bluetooth settings. Others have reported far more serious issues, inability to stay connected for instance. I have posted on the threads above several times and as a result I and others who did the same got calls from AppleCare. Apple collected various logs from my iOS devices and took extensive information regarding my Wi-Fi configuration (the calls - 2 of them - lasted over one hour each). Others have reported the same.

Apple used to use a networking routine called mDNSResponder in iOS 7 and in Mavericks. In iOS 8 and in Yosemite they changed to a new routine called DiscoveryD but in the latest version of Yosemite, 10.10.4, they switched back to mDNSResponder (in the release notes they stated improvements to Wi-FI). According to Apple iOS 9 will be released in the fall so hopefully there will be improvements there as well.

In the mean time you may try to turn OFF Bluetooth and AirDrop and see if that helps you, it did me. Also if your router is dual band, i.e., able to broadcast on the 5GHz band also, you may try 5GHz and see if that helps, less interference there. Also make sure your router firmware is up to date and you are using the latest version for that router. Also try reseting Network settings on your phone and then reconnecting (generally this works for a little while but the issue turns to return for some). If none of the ideas on that thread help, just hang in there until iOS 9 is out in the fall.

    Hope this helps you....  elcpu

    Hi

Turn off your router for 30 seconds

Go to settings on iPhone reset network settings .

After reset enter your router wireless key.

If this doesn't help restore iPhone to

Factory Settings this will get rid of any bugs .

Use same Apple id to get your apps/data back.

Set back up over your WiFi .

    Cheers

Thanks Mol1989, it seems this is a common problem which affected several users. Wish to get the fixes on the next update ( I wish).

Thanks elcpu. Thanks for your reply I really appreciate it.

I've done all steps mentioned above. But unfortunately the issue is still persists.
