Slow App Store downloads

I have the same problem here in Los Angeles. I believe the servers are being upgraded or are in maintenance. Usually those are the reasons for slow download speeds. It's been like this for days so I'm not sure how long they're gonna take. Lots of reports on this on twitter so its a common problem among Apple users.

Same here just north of Los Angeles i just bought my Macbook Pro 2015 15' yesterday and it is taking for ever to download a 2.82gb file . My internet speed test is at 48.56 mbps download and 5.61 mbps upload. It has been 2 hours and I'm only at 170.7 mb of the 2.82 file. why is it so slow and what can i do? its telling it will take 1 day and 4 hours to download.

If this problem is in fact affecting near or around Los Angeles area, then the only thing we can do is wait until who knows when Apple fixes their servers. I guess you can call them and ask if they're doing anything about it. I'm sure if you visit their Apple store they'll have the same problem.

I just end up cancelling the downloads because there's no point especially in the day time where millions of people are accessing the App Store. Maybe at night when the internet traffic starts to clear up it goes a bit faster.

I'm having the same problem in Denver. Right it is showing 49 hours to download the updated Facebook app.

Same download behavior here in Ft Collins, north of Denver. I've not been able to download or update iOS apps for at least a week. One finally did, after perhaps 2 hrs. And just as it got to the point where it flips the status to OPEN to signal that the update is complete, it just quit and started trying to download again. This needs a fix ASAP.

SSame here in FLA very slow App Store and very slow Mac App Store, this needs to be fixed.

This got problem got fixed in Los Angeles a few days back. So yes there is nothing wrong with any iPhone, iPad or Mac product.

So it seems that Apple is doing maintenance or upgrading their servers around the U.S. Eventually you should see fast speeds again when they are done doing that.

Also slow in Firestone, CO (near Longmont, north of Denver). Given the geographic nature of the problem, it has to be a problem with Apple's edge servers. Of course, getting an answer from Apple is no longer possible. They are worse than Microsoft now about ignoring customer issues. Get you stuff together, Apple. You are NOT what you used to be and you had better not rest on your laurels. I am getting fed-up with the post-Jobs miserable service! Completely unacceptable when you pay for product and can't get it!!!!!!!!

I Am in Virginia. Now 25% finished on the Words app update...after about 30 minutes now, Have always just been able to 'update all' and been done shortly! Why won't Apple make an announcement or let us know what is happening?

Having the same issue in Charlotte, NC. I tried to update 15 apps and nothing happens going on 2 days now. How long is gong to take to update servers, I see this topic was started on the 6th ! has there been anything official from Apple on this issue...........

Having the same issue here in India . I am on a 25mbps plan but App Store /iTunes downloads are super slow. Even tried changing my dns to google/open dons but still same issue persists. Apple should really come forward on such issue

hey, did your issue for slow downloads got resolved or is it still persisting? I am having the same issue from last 2 days so i was wondering wether it will go away with time or not.

i have tired every other solution like resetting the router changing dns etc but still the same slow downloads.

Same problems in Espana (Benidorm) very slow apple store, now 2 weeks!
