I downloaded the latest version of iBooks Author because I need to convert an Adobe InDesign file into an EPUB. I exported my InDesign file as an IDML file, but in Author, when I go to "Insert Chapter From...", "InDesign File (IDML)" is grayed out. What do I need to do to access this option?

Are you using one of the two templates for epub format? It may be that these do not support idml import, and you have to use the templates for .ibooks format.
Adobe InDesign has its own system for producing epub format.
Yes, I've opened the blank epub template, and I'm trying to place the IDML file in it.
Unfortunately I have InDesign CS5, which I tried but it stripped all the formatting and illustrations out of my document when it made an EPUB.
