Q: Memory on hardrive

When looking at how much memory I had left on my Macbook Air I saw I had about 50gb of files in the "other" category. How do I find out what these files are so I can delete them? I'm running out of memory on my computer because of it.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), iOS 8.4

Here is a definition of OTHER:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202867

With this knowledge in hand you now do not want to delete all of those files.

Download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them.  They will show all of your files and the respective sizes.  This will enable you to select those files you want to delete or transfer to an external HDD.

Do not forget to empty trash.   Only then is space allocated for new data.

    Ciao.
