Is it possible for the display module to be replaced in an iPhone 5/5s? Thanks in advance :)

On Tuesday (4th of August) afternoon, my phone fell into the toilet from my back pocket of my jeans. After fishing it out hurriedly, I quickly dried it best as I could with a towel nearby and took it into the kitchen to place in a bowl of rice. Once it was covered in the rice I took it and placed it in our airing cupboard to help the drying process. However, I checked it yesterday (Wednesday) and noticed that the screen wouldn't come on, it had high battery when it was dropped and was locked so surely shouldn't have ran out of battery? I then plugged it in to charge and it vibrated meaning it was in fact charging. But again, the screen didn't light up or anything? Today is the second day and I am now getting quite desperate for a phone (I sold my old one) and am having to use the iPad to write this. So I tried it again and the screen still isn't working?! I looked up the different parts of an iPhone as I knew it wasn't actually the screen itself playing up (I'm quite a noob when it comes to parts haha) and found that it's the display module that isn't working. Could I replace the display module or would it be more cost efficient for me to get a new phone? Thanks.

After getting wet, the iPhone will corrode and cause all kinds of future problems. Also in order for rice to remove the moisture it normally takes a wake and not a day. Have powered it on while it still contained moisture there is not tell what you burned out in by doing that.

Since the iPhone is considered not user repairable, opening it to do any repair work on it will cause Apple to refuse to have anything to do with it all afterwards.

Instead I recommend you take it Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.

The screen has probably failed because the water has fried the circuits

You should be eligible for an Out of Warranty exchange at an Apple Genius bar

if in the US it is $269 + tax similar in other major Currencies

This is the offering

Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I did think that was the case, its still in the rice now but a friend of mine suggested checking on it, so it's only been from the rice 5 minutes at the most. The same thing happened to a family member but a miracle seemed to happen and theirs (an iPhone 5s too) was working within 2 days, and is still working fine now. But yes, I think getting a warranty at apple sounds a good idea. Thanks again!

Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply,

although I'm not a US resident or anything,(I'm actually UK) this has given be a slightly better view of what the prices would be if I were to replace the display module, which I'm tied between at the moment haha. Am thinking it may be a better idea to perhaps get a new phone As my first reaction to the price wasn't exactly a good one. Oh well aha

Thanks again!
