Since iOS 8 update last week (week of 7/26/15) the Apple Music update my iPad3 battery drains fast even after turning off ipad

MY battery is draining super fast a couple days after the recent update to iOS 8 last week (7/25/15) the update with Apple music included....tried resetting, turning off location services, deleting infrequently used apps to no avail, any ideas? I have ipad3. i have even seen battery drain while iPad was turned off....when I shut it off it had 64% battery...when I turned it back on it had 32% left....t then watched it drain down to 0% while I used it in about 1 and a half hours....any help would be appreciated
