Q: syncing ios calendar with mac calendar

I normally put my appointments, vacations, all entries into my calendar on my MacBook Pro laptop as I am usually sitting in front of it at my phone making the appointment, etc. at the time of scheduling. I am having problems with these not syncing to my iPhone, iPad or even the iCloud.  I have all turned on everywhere I can tell I need to have them turned on and still they are not syncing. Each one of them show something different. Some things agree on one or two but very rarely do all 4 agree on any of my schedule. I have to manually go into each one and add the event. It is very time consuming. At one point in time all were syncing and it was great then it started messing up but I don't remember exactly when but it was earlier in the year.

Could someone give me some ideas to check out to make sure I have all bases covered in all areas so they will start syncing again. Several times I have scheduled something on my phone and when I get home I find I already have something scheduled on that day on my Mac causing me to have to reschedule the event on my phone.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions any one can give me. I have shutdown all devices and still have the problem.

I have iPhone 6 IOS 8.4, iPad 4 IOS 8.4, MacBook Pro Retina OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 and iCloud.

Thanks

Sheri

    Hello sheribe,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're using iCloud on your Macbook Pro and iOS devices, but the Calendar entries you create don't always sync to iCloud or the other devices.

You can find a troubleshooting guide with several things to check at Get help using iCloud Calendar. This page has steps for iOS, Mac and iCloud.com.

    Happy Computing.

    Hi Jeremy

Thanks for the link. After reading the link and working with it but doing the suggested things, it did give me some ideas to do. Everything was all up to date and no problems showed but then I got to really looking at what I had for the calendars. I actually had a calendar set up for my MacBook Pro, then a separate one was set up for my iCloud. Each had a master calendar with the "sub" calendars in the same colors on both. When I would make an event, I was just selecting the first event for the item I was inserting, not thinking I had the two different calendars going at the same time. Since I do not have a lot of events, I went thru both master calendars and moved everything to one calendar and deleted all the "sub" calendars from the other master calendar and now everything is showing up on one calendar on all my devices.

Again, thanks for the link, it helped get me to where I needed to be.
