Q: help..just bought hp officejet 8610..and connection not working...is it os x yosemite fault?

The printer is connected to the wireless router? Or is the printer having trouble connecting wirelessly to the router?

Have you checked the HP site for an updated driver? Can you add the printer to System Preferences?

Ping printer: If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.
