Q: Turning Off Power On Older Mac G5

Hi Gang

I'm sure this question has been asked before. Wondering if its best to turn off the power strip to the G5 which will kill the power completely, or just boot down?

I know there's some relationship to the internal PRAM battery?

Thank you!

Mike

Shut the computer down but leave the power strip turned on and plugged in, unless you'll be opening up the computer or there's a thunderstorm.

The PRAM battery will drain when there is no AC power going into the machine,  Depending on the model, the replacement battery can be hard to find and when found can be kind of expensive.  When the PRAM battery gets low, startup problems are frequent.  Do the normal shutdown or just let the machine sleep.
