Q: Music playlist doesn't sync properly

Have you checked that all music in your playlist that is from Apple Music and/or iTunes Match has already been downloaded to your iPhone (Make Available Offline) before you try to sync?

Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your library - Apple Support

Try restarting both your iPhone and Apple Watch and then sync again (whilst your watch is charging):

Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; Drag the slider to turn your iPhone off; When it has finished turning off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Restart Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

this doesn't work for me. sync pending is stuck and my apple watch doesn't see the new playlists

Are all of your tracks available on your iPhone (offline)?

Have you placed your Apple Watch on its charger (with power connected) to complete the sync?

Yes--they're available. i've tried different playlists, limited tracks, etc.

yes to charger and proximity as well. I just reset my watch for the 3rd time to try it again. i had a phone issue and replaced my phone (warranty) which i thought was the problem.
