It sounds like the Maps app isn't providing accurate directions because the current location information is incorrect. The article linked below has a lot of great information and troubleshooting tips that will resolve most issues like this one.

If you can't find your current location
- Tap Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure that Location Services and Maps are turned on.
- Restart your device.
- Make sure that cellular data or Wi-Fi is on.
- Try a different location or a different Wi-Fi network.
Depending on the type of device and available services, your device uses a combination of cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS to determine your location. If you're not within the line of sight of GPS satellites, your device can determine your location using crowd-sourced Wi-Fi and cellular tower locations or iBeacons.
