How can I back up my iPhone to my PC now that I have Windows 10?

I haven't been able to back up my iPad to my computer for months, and, now that I have Windows 10, I can't backup my iPhone either. The calendar and contacts sync in the cloud, but I like to plug in each device and back it up to the computer now and then. I just can't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, using a new USB cord, rebooting everything. I have to call up iTunes independently (it doesn't just pop up anymore, and isn't super-easy to find with Windows 10), and when I do it doesn't list either of my devices anymore. When I plug one in, I get this message:

Today, when I clicked that off, I got a second message:

User uploaded file

I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Do you know why you were having problems backing up your iPad before you upgraded to Windows 10? This could shed some clues.

Try this and see if it helps. Open Windows Explorer, open to the Music folder, right click on your iTunes folder, go to Properties, uncheck the Read Only option under Attributes and Apply. Verify that you have full control over the iTunes folder. Right click the folder again, go to properties, then security, and verify that full control is checked. If not change it and apply. Hope this helps... 🙂
