Q: Will backup/restore from backup save my text message history?

I need to perform a backup to itunes, restore to factory setting to process an unlock device from AT&T.  If I then restore from my itunes backup, will it also restore my text message history, or will that be lost?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.4
