Q: My macbook pro suddenly went dead and all attempts to get it to restart have failed.
My MacBook after many years of faithful service has suddenly gone dead? I've tried all options I could find online but none have worked. I'm a little concerned that the IT department in my workplace has targeted me (on a open network) after highlighting their inability to allow anyone to do anything on the network! After bringing my Mac in to show them how time consuming windows machines are in comparison. I had been attempting to learn PHP and SQL server and a little concerned I have been hacked (I did have Intego installed but noticed firewall was off within a day of the shutdown) the other odd thing I noticed was a file I always keep on my desktop called "home folder" suddenly seemed to disappear? unfortunately I am so busy that keeping up at anything is almost impossible, I know I should have been a **** of a lot more careful but after so many years of trouble free use I got complacent, I'd also been using an external thunderbolt HDD to back up to but suddenly found no need to use it after getting high speed broadband and Netflix. I should have re-started backing up to my airport extreme but like I said earlier I got lazy. I'm by no means a savvy user but I love my iMac, MacBook Pro, mini iPad and iPhone 6 with a passion after leaving PC's behind several years ago. As mentioned earlier I left my MacBook open went to morning tea with the assumption of coming back and taking into a class as a teacher only to find it dead? It does not respond to any keyboard commands to date and I have tried letting it go dead but that could take days? I also tried buying a set of 4mm torx anti tamper bits to open and disconnect the battery but I'm in a fairly remote area and getting what I need is not always easy. I'm praying someone out there has had something similar happen and can prove that Macs are as superior as I believe they are!!
