Apple ID not recognised ONLY on APPLE TV? :(!

This is driving me insane!.


I initially had my Apple TV set up at home in Australia, but have since moved for work to Doha, Qatar.


I cannot get my Apple ID to work on Apple TV?


It works on every single other device.. iphone, computer, ipod, iphone... Just not my Apple TV... and now I can't use my Apple TV because I need to sign in first to Home Sharing to use it.


It connects to the wireless network in my building etc..


What is wrong with it?


I read some other users problem solving.. and tried them. (not using the .com shortcut, instead writing it out.... tried to change stores and back again etc which I cannot do as I need a country payment card to verify).... but still cannot manage to get it to work


Pleaseeee help!.

some routers keep their wired ethernet, 2.4Ghz wifi and 5Ghz wifi on separate networks and unless the user bridge them in the router config they live their own lives


if the one appletv is located in a place where it connects to another unbridged network then the rest it would be trying to validate an appleID without having internet or connection to the computers and the likes


try changing them to see if the issue follow the device, try the device on the network or a friend and or relative, key to troubleshooting is eliminating factors until you hare in the most basic to the core setup and if it still fail then a hardware defect would be the likely cause

Could be many reason why your Apple TV has connection issues on that network. Starting with MAC address filtering, ports blocking, etc etc.


Try with different network and you will find out if this is the issue with your network. If your iPhone and your Mobile carrier allows to use Personal Hotspot, you can try to turn ON that feature on your iPhone and then try to connect your Apple TV to it and try to sign in to iTunes Store with your Apple ID.
