Q: I keep getting the "connection lost" for my Magic Mouse on my macbook pro when I am not using one at all.

I used a Magic Mouse on my Macbook Pro laptop around two weeks ago. Everything worked fine and it connected and disconnected as expected. Over the past few days I keep getting "Connection Lost" or "Connected" notifications for the mouse when I am not using one. Nothing seems to be affected but it is rather annoying and a cause for concern when this keeps happening and there is no Magic Mouse in sight. I've gone over to the Mouse settings to see if it may somehow still be connected to my Magic Mouse but everything seems to be normal. Why does this keep happening and how do I stop it from doing so again?

    Good day KelvinG987,

My understanding here is that you previously used a Magic Mouse with your MacBook Pro, have stopped using it but are still getting connection and disconnection alerts about the mouse from your computer, is that correct?

If you look in System Preferences (found under the Apple menu) and select Bluetooth you should see a list with one or more devices, including the Magic Mouse. Select the Magic Mouse and to the right there is a button with an 'x.' Clicking that button removes the pairing record of the Magic Mouse from the Mac. See this article - Wireless input devices: Bluetooth frequently asked questions. This should prevent the Mac from making further pairing attempts with the mouse and thus resolve your issue.
