Q: SOLVED - Anyone has 5k iMac and suffers driver issues in windows 10 gotta see this

I got a 5k iMac with r9 m295x graphic card, since windows 10 released I have tried to have it on my iMac via bootcamp, however the drivers issues annoyed me a lot. There are two mainly problems when you install bootcamp drivers (get from Boot Camp Assistant in mac) in windows: keyboard function key and graphic card.

Here is the solution, after your windows 10 is installed

1, Get bootcamp drivers for windows as what you used to from boot camp assistant in mac.

2, Find the keyboard driver in your usb, location will be USB/BootCamp/Drivers/Apple/AppleKeyboardInstaller64.exe, and replace it with https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3W9DOPdr9lsbnNkaHh2RVFoYXM/view?usp=sharing

3, Install BootCamp as usual in windows and reboot as it required.

4, Go to device manager and expand Display adapters, double click your AMD Radeon R9 M295X card, select the Driver tab and click Uninstall, make sure the checkbox has a checkmark for delete driver in the popup window and click Ok.

5, Wait for it finish, go to amd website and download latest windows beta driver for windows 8.1 64-bit, http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/amd-catalyst-15.6-beta-software-suite-win8.1-64 bit-june22.exe

6, Run the installer so it expands the files, then it will fail to install, now go back to device manager, double click your default video adapter (if cannot find it, click Action in the menu bar and then select Search for hardware changes), go to the Driver tab and click Update driver,  choose Search my computer, then browse to the folder you just expand the beta driver and choose include subfolders.

7, Click OK, magic happens!! The driver will be installed and the adapter turns to be AMD Radeon R9 200 Series.

Now you can adjust the resolution and have full function of m295x!! Finally!!

OK.  First of all, I'm pretty sure that I have the latest Bootcamp drivers (it said 6.x while updating them in Windows 81. Pro).  But, after upgrading to Windows 10 when I re-run the Apple Software update it says all software is up to date.  Problem is, I do not have the AMD Radeon R29o (or 295) display adapter listed under device manager.  All I have listed there is a generic display adapter.  So, how do I perform this update?  etc.???  (BTW, I had full control of my iMac 5K monitor in 8.1 Pro.  But cannot seem to get back to a happy state after the Win 10 upgrade.  Please advise....

Also, when I try to use the link for the beta driver, I get re-directed to an error page (download not completed).  even if I paste the URL into the browser, I still cannot find this beta driver.

GOT IT!  Posting in case it helps others:

I had to google for Radeon Beta Version 15.6 Display Driver to find the correct beta version driver download.  The link in original post did not work for me!

Then, you have to double-click the downloaded file (which is an exe) and it will fail to install as stated in original link.  But it expands and saves to C:\AMD\....

Then, open device manager and click on display adapter, and  "Scan for Hardware Changes" (Do not skip this step).

Then, you have to tell it to update the driver, and after a click or two - "Have Disk".

    Navigate to:

      C:\AMD\AMD-Catalyst-15.6-Beta-Software-Suite-Win8.1-64Bit-June22\Packages\Drive rs\Display\WB6A_INF\B185615

and select the .inf file that it finds there.

This file WILL INDEED install and solve all your problems on a 5K iMac running Windows 10.

The other drivers on the Radeon site for windows 10 will NOT install..!

I hope these few additional details will help others.

Thanks for sharing, however I have to point out that since apple have released bootcamp 6 and it support windows 10, you d better using it because I do get much more performance from it. Just try to uninstall your current graphic driver (manually in your case) and get bootcamp 6 from BCA. Hope you can make it smoothly.

I am one of those. Installed Windows 8.1. It even does not appear on Startup Disk (though it is on Desktop and in the startup itself if a press Option key), and El Capitan Startup Disk is in a whitish grey, what means, actually, that I cannot chose any startup disk on System Preferences!!! On the other hand Mac HD does not appear on Windows Explorer. So, this is not only an AMD driver problem. Its a problem with this El Capitan ''sacred'' Boot Camp...Frankly, if Apple can not offer an application that does not work as it should do, so do not offer the application at all!!!

ELC Requires your Administrative credentials to change Startup disk.

You are confusing issues. Mac HD does not appear Windows explorer because it is a CoreStorage volume which has no Windows drivers. It is unrelated to any AMD issues.

Apple offers OS X, which works perfectly, correct? Ask Microsoft/AMD to step up to the plate please.
