Q: file recovery after partition deletion

Hi all, again, i've seen all this come up in the past, but i had to install some repair drivers as my mac functions were not working properly after the windows 10 update. it also meant i was unable to use my macbook's trackpad too! I accidentally selected the option on bootcamp assistant to delete an existing partition and have now literally lost all my college work and everything. Is there anything at all i can do to recover files?

After you lost the Windows partition, what type of work was done on the OS X side? These two seem to indicate that OS X has been writing, moving and updating blocks. This is part of the reason that an external OS X boot is necessary to avoid such modifications. It may be too late, but lets us wait till you get to 11/11.

Funnily enough, i haven't used my mac side for work in years, at all to be honest.

on doing the 9/11, and reboot it loads up with a file blinking and a ? in it, im freaking out! what happened? im contacting you using my brother's macbook

Ok, im off next week so i wont be able to do anything regarding it till friday anyway. If you do have some ideas as to restore the mac side, post them and i'll see what i can do on friday, thanks for your help and i'll talk to you then

You may have typos in the GPT steps. You should OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support and boot from it. We can then inspect your internal disk and fix issues.
