I'm having problems with getting my photos from the mac to my iPhone 6+. When I connect my phone and go to iTunes and check the sync photos option the drop down menu only gives me the choice of my picture folder not any application to sync with like iPhoto is the old days. All my photos are in the new Photos app on my mac but I can't pick the library. What am I doing wrong?

Has your Photos Library been enabled as the System Photos Library? Check the Preferences in Photos:
Photos > Preferences > General: The option "Use as System Photo Library" should be grayed out, to show that is is enabled.
Also, if you are using iCloud Photo Library, you cannot sync photos using iTunes at all.
