Wifi options on the go so I can use Siri for music playback

I have a pioneer radio in my car that is capable of Siri eyes free, problem is I don't want to use my android phone as a mobile hotspot cause I know I will forget to turn off the hotspot once I leave the car and I will eat up all my data. I am looking for an app that either finds and connects to local wifi spots automatically as I drive around or a mifi device that will keep the iPod connected to internet so I can use Siri ONLY for music playback as in play a specific song or playlist. This is all I want it for. Please any suggestions would be awesome. I'm tired of researching and searching and getting nowhere!

This app will help you find free wifi, but you won't connect automatically. You could check with your carrier about the hotspot, I have verizon and used a JetPack a few years ago, but now just use my iphone hotspot. In my experience, after you don't use the hotspot after a certain amount of time you get disconnected which may be a problem while driving. Here is the app link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/free-wi-fi-finder/id307217005?mt=8

edit: I just turned Siri off and turned on voice control with my phone in airplane mode. I was able to request through voice control that "songs by FUN" be played. Maybe you could try that. I would not be hands free though.

I tried that app. And some others and that particular app didn't find any WiFi near me where I am right now so it's not very promising. And I currently use the basic voice control to do the playlists hands free but it's not that great cause it's always misinterpreting what I say (it likes to play the playlist fall out boy a lot and well... I never ask it to play that list.) siri is way better at understanding and you can ask to play a specific song and not have to say songs by this artist. I know songs not who sings them most of the time. I have a ton of songs and can't remember who sings what. Anyway thanks for the help I am thinking about getting a mifi device or looking more into them. It beats going out and spending $700 on a new radio. I have Verizon right now and was wondering about the jet pack. Did it work well?

I Honestly, had mixed results with the jetpack. Sometimes it was great but other times it just didn't work well. I had one of the first ones, it may be worth seeing if they are any better now. I just use my phone hotspot, since I found it to work better and to cut out an extra data plan. Have you tried making some nice playlists and then starting them before you drive?

I have a ton of Playlists I just don't want to make special ones with favorite songs because basically I have racing thoughts. And if I hear one song it can trigger a ton of different feelings or memories and could go any way with what song it reminds me of and which song I want to hear next. So that might not work out so well.

I have switched to sprint to try to get unlimited data to use a mobile Hotspot for siri to be used but I didn't know mobile Hotspot through sprint is charged extra and you don't get unlimited data for that. I am just worried I will use a Hotspot and burn through data just using siri for a little bit of music playback only...
