If I delete my apple ID, and create a new one, will it affect usage of my mac?

I have recently switched to using a new email account, and as such I want to switch all of my accounts on various websites over to this new email.

I have elected to delete old accounts, and restart new ones using my new email, I will not simply want to amend account details.

It has been easy so far with things such as YouTube and Facebook, but Apple seems like it could pose some more issues - due to the fact that I have some programmes associated with my account, and I have used it to sign-in on my Mac.

As such, my question is this:

If I am to delete my current apple ID, and create a new one, will it affect usage of my mac?

For example, will I easily be able to switch the mac system to sign in with my new account? And will programmes such as Microsoft office, final cut pro x, etc be rendered inactive and unable to be used? Or will they continue to run?

I do hope you can help me out. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

OK, but simply changing your email address does not justify the need to create a brand new Apple ID. To change your Apple ID read Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID.

I will not simply want to amend account details.

If you really want to do that, understand that anything purchased from the Mac App Store or from the iTunes Store under the old Apple ID will continue to require that Apple ID (or the Apple ID superseding it) to update or download again, should you need to do that.

I do not know if you purchased Microsoft Office or Final Cut Pro from the Mac App Store. If you do not know either, review your Purchased list in the App Store by logging in under the Apple ID used to purchase them.

So, yes it will affect using your Mac, but that is your choice to make.
