Why am I receiving invalid Certificate messages on many web sites?

I am currently receiving multiple "invalid certificate" messages on my macbook version 10.5.8 when trying to send emails or access old websites. This began about a month ago. I do not have the same problem with my imac, ipads or iphone. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

Finally! After running Keychain First Aid (+launch: Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access, then Select Keychain Access menu -> Keychain First Aid+), I was able to determine that the SystemRootCertificates.keychain file in the +System -> Library -> Keychain+ folder was missing.
