Tomb Raider Will Not Open on MacBook Pro Retina

I have a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 15" computer.

I recently purchased the newest version of Tomb Raider from the Mac App Store and downloaded it to my hard drive. When I open the game, there is a menu that looks like this:

but when I click the play button nothing happens. I have attempted to change the resolution of the game, run in a window instead of fullscreen, restart my computer and to toggle legacy Open-GL. My computer is more than capable of running this game as it meets the specifications and it has run other intensive games in the past (Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, etc.). Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? Thanks for your help.
