I put half of my IPhoto Library on an external hard drive.
When I open that library, not all my pictures are showing. Some of them are, but random pictures are missing.
How can I get those pictures back?

As there is no simple way to put half an iPhoto Library on an external, so you'll need to explain in detail what you have done.
Also: What version of iPhoto? And what format is the External?
I split my Library in two using iPhoto Library Manager and put one part on my external hard drive.
I have iPhoto version 9.6.1 and the Library on my external looks like this:
So I guess that's just a normal Library

Did you remove any data from your internal drive?
I didn't remove any data from my internal drive.
My external drive (Lacie) is 'HFS+ - Mac OS Extended (journaled)'
Then, at a guess, for some reason the split failed. I try again or seek help from the makers of Library Manager.
