Login format for mail account in MS Outlook

I have just needed to reconfigure my Outlook mail client after installing WIN 10 (another story!). I have achieved the connection using iCloud for windows etc but am faced with a server ( p02-smtp.mail.me.com ) login panel which refuses to recognise me. what is the format of the user name that it requires? I have tried all the obvious combinations. I can send and receive mail from my apple devices OK.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the response. The advice in the support article is what I had already tried and was the way I originally setup the account on my PC which was running Windows 8.1 and Office 2010. No problems there.

I have updated to Windows 10 and Office 2010 on the same PC and the problem has arisen - refused login.

I had this issue with my BTinternet mail and resolved it by repairing a system file using Microsoft's SFC /scannow routine which worked. The Apple issue persists which suggests to me a system file either produced by Apple and iCloud is compromised or a Microsoft file which is used by iCloud is compromised. I have re run the SFC routine which finds no issues with any of the system files.

Help please.

Mark
