I have two late n2009 iMacs.to get Target Display working.
An Apple store recommended thunderbolt cable. No joy.
I looked on the Apple site, that recommends a mini display port cable.
Apple do not make these cables, despite recommending it on their website.
I have therefore plugged in a mini display port to DVi adapter in each iMac, and a DVi cable into these.
I press Cmd F2, nothing happens.
Has anybody any clue as to how this feature can be rigged up and made to work as Apple support have the audacity to want to charge me for trouble shooting the problem despite having purchased two Apple TV boxes (bopth of which stopped working after a year); macbooks; iPhones, iMacs, iPads etc…?
Even Apple Support UK promised to try and help via twitter, nothing back from them either.
Has anyone got an answer to getting the simple Target display mode working?
