Q: Why does my Mac Pro shuts down suddenly

My mac book pro, last model with cd player included, shuts down suddenly. Its almost new because I bought it to my husband and he did not used it much.

We already updated all the software. The last OX is installed. It keeps shutting down. Battery is ok although it doesn't charge more than 96%.

Check to see if there has been a kernel panic. If so use these instructions to log it and post it.

Reset the SMC and the NVRAM:

Then try a safe boot:
