How to import photos from Iphone 6 camera roll to new Yosemite 10 Photos program?

I unfortunately updated my Macbook to Yosemite 10.10.4 and as usual, everything is f*&ked. My first question of many is: how do I import photos from my iphone 6 to the new Photos program? When i plug in my iphone, I see a few pictures that say "already imported" above them on the left side of the Photos window. Then a see a few to the right that say absolutely nothing above them. I'm guessing these must be ones that have not yet been imported, but it doesn't look to by the right quality of photos as I should be importing at least 25 - 30 new photos, and yet I only see maybe 6.

Main Questions: How can I import non-imported photos from my iphone 6 camera roll to the new Photos application?
