Neil, I realize that this is an old thread but I have noticed lots of responses on the Apple discussions saying that there is "no scanner" "no cleaner" for MAC that is worth using as far as virus/malware/adware detection or removal. Yet almost every time I see one of these responses by level 6 - 10 users here in the discussions they link to "The Safe Mac" website which advertises Anti-Malware - AntiVirus software download for free. I believe "thomas_r." maintains it.

Is this something new that has recently showed up on "The Safe Mac" site? Do you or anyone else know if this software is of any use?

1. It's been around for a while, but isn't compatible with Snow Leopard.

2. If you'd prefer to use a tool instead of removing it manually and are running a compatible OS, yes.
