Q: Why do books I purchased - and read several times - now indicate that I have to purchase them (again)?

I Bought several books on iBook and downloaded them when my grandchildren came to visit. Now, they appear as if I never bought them. How can I get that corrected?

What makes you think you're being asked to pay again, rather than to just download it afresh?

You do not need to pay again for anything that you already purchased. You should be able to just re-download them for free from the Purchases section. If not, then you'll need to contact Apple store support via the link listed at the bottom of this page.

Instead of a cloud and arrow, there is a price listed for the books. And I do not see a link for Apple Store Support. Thanks, though.

    Bottom-right corner: Contact Us.

You must be logged in with the same Apple ID that was used to originally purchase the books.

    Hi JazzChord1,

I've had a similar experience with an audiobook i bouth on an ipad. When trying to play such book on the phone, it does not show the cloud icon, but rather asks me if I want to rebuy it.

After a several calls and chat with iTunes support, I come to find out that I cannot re-download such audiobook into my phone because such book https://itun.es/us/wbkQ5 is apparently not part of iTunes in the cloud.

I wish I'd have been informed of that BEFORE pressing buying. And here are my grievances:

    1) Transferring the book from device to device is a total hassle.

    2) The listening place does not sync among devices.

    3) It has taken over 2 hours of dropped support calls and chat, to figure all this out.

All my other audiobooks (purchased from Amazon) can be transferred and continue playing exactly where I left off, regardless of the device I'm listening.

With all the touting from Apple about the benefits of the cloud, and then come to find that some content is not part of it and NOT being informed about it upfront, is disappointing.

Until this gets fixed, note to self: Do not buy audiobooks from Apple.
