can i import garage band projects into ipad on ios8

i have created a project in garage band on my macbook. i would like to continue with the project on my ipad (ios8). I have uploaded the .band file to my idrive but I can't see it on my ipad. I am quite new to ipad and i find it quite confusing that it is so hard to open files on it and share from other aps. My main objective is to not have to replay the midi track into the ipad version of garage band. On that note: is it possible to import a midi file into garage band on the ipad?

The Project files for GarageBand are only upwards compatible.

GarageBand iOS ➤ GarageBand OSX ➤ Logic Pro X

Here is a diagram from my book "GarageBand for iPad - How it Works" that shows the upgrade path.

Also, you cannot open individual MIDI files in GarageBand for iOS

Hope that helps
